​The PCC is the governing body of St George’s. It is made up of the clergy and lay members of the church. It includes the Rector, the churchwarden(s), and members elected at the Annual Meeting. Together they are responsible for the overall wellbeing, practical as well as spiritual, of the church, the church members, and the church buildings.

 

The PCC has an important part to play in the mission and outreach of St George’s, amongst the congregation and in the wider community, and PCC members should demonstrate their commitment to our Christian ethos, through leadership, by example, and by witness. All members share equal responsibility for the actions of the PCC. 

 

In law, PCCs are charitable cooperations and PCC members are trustees of the charity whose charitable objects are focussed on the advancement of religion.

St George’s is registered with the Charity Commission.

Minutes of PCC Meetings
Anyone whose name is on the electoral roll of the parish is entitled to have access to the approved minutes of meetings of the PCC, except for any  confidential minutes.

Becoming a PCC member and trustee of St George's
Would you like to help shape the life and mission of St George’s? We are always happy to welcome new people on to the PCC. To be eligible for election, you must be 1) at least 16 years old; 2) an actual communicant; and 3) on the electoral roll for at least 6 months. Elected members serve for a maximum term of 3 years.

 

The PCC can also co-opt members who are actual communicants aged 16 or over. In this case their term runs until the next Annual Meeting.
