Baptism (Christenings)
We are always delighted to welcome new people, whatever their age, into the life of the Church. Baptism (or Christening) is the way in which we become part of the Christian family. It is a special service for the whole community where we celebrate God’s love for a person, and their new life in Christ.
If you’ve recently had a new baby, we would love to celebrate with you and your family. At St George's, christenings usually take place at the 10.00 Sunday Parish Eucharist.

For older children (7 years old and above), we run baptism classes alongside our annual preparation for First Communion.
For adults, being baptised will be part of a wider process of preparation for confirmation with classes running each year.
