All Age Eucharist
Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs.’
Every third Sunday in term time, we hold a more interactive All Age Eucharist as our main service at 10am. All the children stay in church with their parents and carers, and take an active part in the worship by, for example, reading from scripture, leading prayers, taking up the offerings, being involved in the sermon, serving at the altar as cross bearers, acolytes, thurifers, and other roles. Children also help with greeting people coming to church. Those who have been trained and authorised will help administer the chalice at communion.

The atmosphere of the service is welcoming, relaxed, and reverent as children are encouraged to bring their wonder, excitement and capacity for adoration into the heart of our Eucharistic worship and, together with people of all ages, encounter the mystery and joy of the living God.
Some elements of the liturgy have been shortened or simplified, using shorter authorised texts of the Church of England. Simplicity here, however, in no way means oversimplification! When used well in worship simple language, like the best poetry or prayer, can awaken the childlike nature of all our hearts, free the voices of our souls, and carry us into the depth and richness of God's living presence.

The St George's Children's Choir usually joins us for the All Age Eucharist alongside our regular church choir to help lead and further enrich our worship.
